Vesela Lecheva, who was elected president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC), received a letter of authorization today from former president Stefka Kostadinova, which will allow her to lead the organization until the formal legal procedures for registering the new leadership in the Commercial Register are completed.
The two held a brief working meeting this morning. Vessela Letcheva stated that work will begin in earnest in the interest of institutional stability and Bulgarian Olympism. She is in constant contact with the International Olympic Committee, and news of developments in the Bulgarian case will also be communicated to the IOC Executive Board, which is holding a meeting in Lausanne today and tomorrow.
A few days ago, it became clear that all claims filed against the General Assembly of the BOC on March 19, 2025, have been withdrawn. Court rulings are expected within the statutory timeframe, after which President Vessela Letcheva and the members of the Executive Bureau will be registered as representatives of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
