Antoaneta Kostadinova, Miroslava Mincheva and Lidiya Nencheva won the bronze medal in the women’s 25m pistol trio at the European Shooting Championships in Osijek, Croatia. The Bulgarian delegation was led by Federation President Vesela Lecheva.
The Bulgarians entered the final with the third score of 438 points in the qualification and in a direct dispute for the bronze with Ukraine they prevailed with 17:13 points. In the final, Germany won against Hungary 16:12.
Olympic silver medallist Antoaneta Kostadinova took fifth place in the women’s 25m pistol individual final yesterday. Miroslava Mincheva placed 12th with 581 points.

In the team standings Bulgaria (composed of Antoaneta Kostadinova, Miroslava Mincheva and Lidiya Nencheva) came fourth after Germany, France and Hungary.
The European Championships are the last major shooting event where direct quotas for this summer’s Olympics will be awarded. So far, Antoaneta Kostadinova and Kiril Kirov have quotas for the Games in Paris.
“The European Championships were the penultimate test before the Olympic Games in Paris. It is important that Antoaneta Kostadinova managed to enter the final and bring back the confidence, and the bronze medal in the team competition is a reward for the efforts of our other athletes,” said Vessela Letcheva.

After the European Championships our shooters will travel to Munich where they will participate in a World Cup competition.
