Vessela Letcheva met with members of the IOC and presidents of international federations

The President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) Vessela Letcheva held working meetings in Milan with members of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and with the presidents of three of the world’s largest federations – figure skating, boxing, and gymnastics.

Lecheva spoke with Kim Je-yol, president of the International Skating Union (ISU) and member of the IOC, who was elected to the Executive Board of the headquarters during the 145th session of the organization before the start of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games.

Kim, who is president of Samsung Global Research, was vice-chairman of the Organising Committee for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and head of the South Korean delegation to the 22nd Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014.

Kim Je-yol welcomed Lecheva to the ISU House, where guests of the Games can watch all the most interesting ice sports events on big screens.

The BOC president presented his host with an honorary plaque. The two discussed the huge audience interest in figure skating, the big surprises of the Olympic tournament, opportunities for development, various media platforms and digitization, the presence of athletes on social networks, and the promotion of sport through them. Lecheva also shared her personal memories and experiences from her visits to the Republic of Korea.

Earlier, Vessela Letcheva met with the new president of World Boxing, Gennady Golovkin, who took over as head of World Boxing in November. Golovkin is also president of the Kazakhstan Olympic Committee.

Letcheva also had the opportunity to talk with IOC Vice President Nawal El Moutawakel, as well as with the President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and IOC member Morinari Watanabe.
