The President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, Vessela Letcheva, congratulated the Nikola Simov Sports School in Targovishte, which celebrated its 40th anniversary. Lecheva was a guest at the anniversary, which was also attended by the president of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation and former Minister of Youth and Sports Georgi Glushkov.
“History is what makes us strong. Tradition is what gives us the confidence to move forward. Because what is a nation without history? What is a school without history, traditions, without its heroes? I have walked this path myself – I started at a sports school. And I know that this is the place where your dreams can begin.
It is important to strive every day to become better – not only as an athlete, but also as a person.
I wish you to pursue your dreams every day. To work hard and respect your coaches, who are not only your teachers but also your family,” Lechova addressed the students and teachers, competitors and coaches.
Letcheva also visited the shooting competition in Targovishte, organized by SKSS Svetkavitsa. The tournament has over 110 competitors. It also serves as a qualifier for the European Junior and Youth Championships, which Burgas will host in February.
