Vessela Lecheva is one of the stars of the BNT Hall of Fame documentary

Vessela Letcheva is yet another big name who enters the lens of the “Hall of Fame” program of BNT. The episode was aired again on public television today.

“Every time I tried to be the best. And so for 25 years.” That’s what Vessela Letcheva, who is among the 10 greatest champions in the world in the 100-year history of sport shooting, said on the “Hall of Fame” programme.

“When they said I was nominated for Shooter of the Century it was a shock to me, knowing how many other athletes had success. To be lined up next to great names in sport shooting felt like a person fulfilling a dream – to be the best,” said Letcheva.

The recognition as the most titled female rifle competitor is only natural. Letcheva is a five-time world champion. She has also won eight European titles, four World Cups, with two Olympic silver medals from the Seoul and Barcelona Games. A total of 17 world records are recorded in the name of the athlete with the bluest eyes. Impressive statistics, to which she adds the recognition of the World Federation’s Athlete of the Century.

“I have never felt great. I’ve felt on the wings of victory. I’ve felt that breeze and satisfaction of being the best, or of becoming a champion. It’s a very brief moment. The moment you step off the podium, all eyes are on the next race,” said Letcheva.
