The chairman of the Bulgarian Shooting Union and member of the IOC Commission, Vessela Letcheva, participated in the awards ceremony in this year’s edition of “Sporten Ikar” of the “Bulgarian Sport” Foundation.
Lecheva awarded the silver medalist in sports shooting from Tokyo, Antoaneta Kostadinova, who is the winner in the category for a long career in sports, as well as the canoeist Yoana Georgieva for first achievements in world sports.
“I am happy that I awarded athletes in exactly these two categories – Antoinette, who has been in the elite of world shooting for years, and Joanna, who is taking her first but confident steps in the big sport,” commented Letcheva.

The swimmer Petar Mitsin received the grand prize. The 18-year-old talent set a world junior 400m freestyle record, winning three European junior titles (200m, 400m and 800m freestyle) as well as a gold medal at the European Under-23 400m freestyle . At the World Junior Championships, he became champion in the 400m freestyle and took silver in the 800m freestyle and 200m butterfly.
The Bulgarian Sport Foundation honored athletes in eight categories.
