Erika Karabeleva became champion in the girls’ 55 kg category, while Stanislav Mitkov took bronze in the boys’ 63 kg category at the taekwondo tournament at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje (Republic of North Macedonia).
The two brought two new medals for Bulgaria from the competition after Damyan Iliev’s silver in the 10-meter pistol discipline.

Prior to that, the Bulgarian athlete achieved four more victories – over Inari Edla Maria Susiluoto (Finland), Sarah Diabate (France), Noa Beckers (Belgium) and Carla Cesar (Spain).
In the junior competition, Stanislav Mitkov lost to Vladimir Shramuk (Belarus) 0:2 in the semifinals and thus won the bronze medal.
