The President of the Bulgarian Shooting Union and member of the Committee on Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Vessela Letcheva participated in the award ceremony for children with outstanding talents in the field of science, arts, technology and sports in town of Troyan. The ceremony was organized by Mayor Donka Mihaylova and the municipal administration, and 85 children were awarded. They received a one-time financial aid and a diploma for their achievements.
“I congratulate the city on this initiative. For children, this day is very special. All success should be appreciated and encouraged. Today in the hall in Troyan I saw many happy young people, “said Vessela Letcheva.
Letcheva visited the National School for Mountain Guides – Vasil Levski Secondary School in Cherni Osam. The meeting with the young mountaineers is part of the tour of Vessela Letcheva, who as a member of the Committee on Public Affairs and Corporate Communications at the IOC plans to make a series of meetings with young athletes. The school in Cherni Osam is the only one in Bulgaria that trains mountain guides and rescuers.
The students asked a lot of questions – about her sports career, the hardest victories and biggest disappointments, the path in politics, hobbies outside of sports.

“I met amazing young people in such a beautiful place in Bulgaria as Cherni Osam. I am encouraged after my meeting with these awake children who see their future realization through sports”, said Letcheva.

Vessela Letcheva donated to the school the books of Silvia Azdreeva “To conquer yourself” with the personal dedication of the climber, who is the first Bulgarian woman to climb successively the eight-thousanders Everest and Lhotse, as well as K2.
