The elected President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee Vessela Letcheva came up with a position related to the notarial invitation she sent with a request to hand over power.
In March this year, Letcheva defeated Stefka Kostadinova in the election for chairman held during the committee’s general assembly.
“The notarial invitation is yet another attempt to implement the legal and legitimate decisions of the BOC Executive Bureau /held on April 3, 2025/ elected by the General Assembly on March 19, 2025. According to the BOC Statutes, the decisions come into force immediately.
So far, there has not been a single court decision that says this assembly is illegal. Also, to date, Ms. Stefka Kostadinova has not fulfilled a single promise of “full cooperation” made to the media and public and at meetings held after March 19, 2025. Moreover, she has demonstrated by her conduct that she will continue to disregard the will of the General Assembly.
In her actions, Vessela Letcheva has been as open as possible both in her public conduct and in her dealings with the media. She never planned to be in the BOC building on 13 May 2025.
In conclusion, we would like to remind again that since the first day after the BOC General Assembly and the convincing victory of Ms. Vessela Letcheva, Ms. Stefka Kostadinova has been dragging the BOC into an unworthy scenario”.
