Vessela Letcheva, the elected President of the BOC, was a special guest in the studio of the BNT programme “More from the day”. The legend in shooting sports gave clarity about what is happening at the moment in the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and whether there is a development in the negotiations with the former chairwoman of the headquarters Stefka Kostadinova.
Earlier, Letcheva’s team said that communication between her and Kostadinova was blocked unilaterally.
Asked who was running the BOC, Letceha said, “Unfortunately, at the moment, I am not yet in a position to step into purely operational management as the old leadership is not yet out of the BOC building.”
“I have been pleading since the first day for a fair handover of power, a democratic, civilised approach from the old leadership that lost the election. I don’t want an organisation as prestigious as the Olympic Committee to be involved in scandals, intrigues and all such insinuations,” she added.
$The last conversation, which took place exactly two weeks ago, we have already had a serious step forward because Mrs Kostadinova promised full cooperation in terms of the work and that those documents that we requested from her will be handed over. But, exactly two days later, there was complete silence and communication was again cut off,” the elected BOC chair said.
Despite everything that is happening, Letcheva hopes that the case will be resolved as soon as possible.
