In relation to a news item on the official website of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, Vessela Letcheva’s team issued a statement saying:
“A final agreement related to co-management in the transitional period until the final court ruling was not accepted.
Ms Vesela Lecheva has publicly announced that she views the meeting held on 24 April 2025 as an important step towards resolving the crisis created after the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee held on 19 March 2025.
At the request of Ms. Stefka Kostadinova, an extension of three weeks was granted to include in the agreement a clause requested by Ms. Vesela Lecheva’s team related to joint transitional management as mandated by the law, the BOC Statutes and the decisions of the BOC General Assembly.
We hope that the news, which by its very nature is completely false, is not a deliberate mistake or provocation aimed at substituting facts and events that were reported to journalists by leading Bulgarian media. We believe that today’s meeting had the task of initiating a solution to the crisis and was not an attempt to delay and refuse to accept the decisions of the General Assembly.
