“The final of the World Volleyball Championship and your tremendous success brought the whole of Bulgaria together – in front of the screens, in the squares, in our hearts!”
With these words, BOC President Vessela Letcheva congratulated the national volleyball team, who won silver medals in the Philippines.
“We didn’t even dream of this success at the beginning of the championship. Your journey to the final was a real dream. You showed tremendous class and determination, and your talent, boldness, and youth are a promise for the future. I am convinced that in three years’ time you will be among the best at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” wrote Letcheva.
“Today, the whole of Bulgaria was VOLLEYBALL. For the first time since the American summer of 1994, Bulgarians took to the streets across the country to support their national team. The future is ahead of you! Bulgarian sport can unite the nation, and you have proven it!” Letcheva added.
