The aim of the forum is to focus on one of the IOC’s leading topics – the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the challenges of using it in sport, and ethical rules. In this mission, the International Olympic Committee will partner with sports organisations and academia to achieve the best models for development.

Assoc. Ivan Slavchev, NSA professor, will moderate a panel on the application of artificial intelligence in sport and the ethical challenges in its use. Georgi Kaludov, a representative of one of the major companies developing artificial intelligence systems, will speak on the topic.

The Olympic Agenda for Artificial Intelligence is the third of a trilogy of strategic documents launched under the leadership of IOC President Thomas Bach, and presents the intended impact that AI can have on sport.

The last session of the IOC Executive Board for 2024 reported on the successful launch of the Olympic Artificial Intelligence Programme. It was stressed that the IOC should take the lead in establishing guiding principles, identify high impact areas for AI application and explore the framework and governance mechanisms needed to mitigate risk and promote responsible use. In this mission, the International Olympic Committee will partner with sports organisations and academia.
