Vessela Letcheva participated in the opening of a sports complex in the mountain town of Chepelare

The President of the Bulgarian Shooting Union and member of the IOC committee Vessela Letcheva participated in the opening of a new sports complex in Chepelare. The project was approved in her mandate as interim Minister of Sport.

The reconstruction of the facility was financed by the state with 624 124 leva. The complex has two tennis courts and one combined field for football, basketball and volleyball. The outdoor fitness equipment has been replaced with new equipment, there is a tennis table, as well as tables for chess and board games. The flooring, bleachers, fencing, and the sports complex building are also new. A CCTV system has also been installed.

“I am pleased that the sports facility is ready. Every euro has been invested for its intended purpose, which will contribute to the development of the city and sport in the region. When I signed this contract, I was convinced that Chepelare has a mayor in the person of Boran Hadzhiev, who loves sports and a meaningful investment will be made. One of the most successful Bulgarian coaches in winter sports shows that he is doing an excellent job as mayor,” Vessela Letcheva said.

At the beginning of the month, Vessela Letcheva attended the opening of another sports facility, implemented after a contract signed during her mandate – a swimming complex in Polski Trambesh.

“Only by investing in facilities will we have both champions and young people to train,” Letcheva added.
