Executive Bureau of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee held a regular meeting, confirmed a new Vice President and Secretary General of the headquarters

The newly elected Executive Bureau of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) held a regular meeting.

It voted on the resignation of Atanas Furnadjiev as Vice President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee after his written request. Furnadjiev, head of the national biathlon federation, remains a member of the BOC Executive Bureau because the decision to dismiss him is within the sole authority of the General Assembly of the headquarters. The Executive Bureau elected in his place Slavi Binev, President of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation, as the new Vice President.

A number of decisions were also taken, in accordance with the BOK Statute and the legislation in force in the country, with which the Executive Bureau actually started its work, as assigned to it by the Statute and the decisions of the General Assembly.

The Executive Bureau dismissed Belcho Goranov from the position of Secretary General of the BOC. A new Secretary General was elected – Danail Dimov. Dimov is a lawyer and economist by education, with more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer, manager of major sports projects and facilities, with experience in public administration, private sector and NGOs. He has also served as President of the Bulgarian Water Polo Federation. The Bureau entrusted the new Secretary General with the effective exercise of his powers of organisation and administration of the Committee’s activities, in order to prevent any potential damage – material, legal and image – and to exercise overall control over document flow, correspondence and relations with third parties.

The Executive Bureau by its decisions obliged Stefka Kostadinova as still representing the BOC in the Registry Agency due to court appeals, to implement all decisions of the legally elected new management of the organization at the General Assembly held on 19 March 2025.

The Executive Bureau also obliged Kostadinova to notify its members of all legal papers received at the administrative address of the BOC, as well as not to perform any legal or factual actions without the express written consent of the newly elected President Vessela Letcheva.
